The Lumia 940 and 940 XL would be Microsoft's new flagship phones

Table of contents:
There's no doubt that those of us craving a new high-end Lumia have had a long wait, but luckily , there are more and more indications that this via crucis is coming to an end.
We had already seen rumors that Microsoft would be working on a Lumia 940, with specifications as interesting as a dock for external monitors and biometric sensors (an idea that gained credibility with the announcement of Windows Hello). Now it is Nokia Power User who revives the idea of new high-end phones, but adding that Microsoft would not plan to launch one but two high-end Lumias, which would be called Lumia 940 and 940 XL
These names would be in line with the nomenclature adopted by the Lumia 640 and 640 XL, launched last month, where the XL version corresponds to a phablet variant with a larger screen size. This suggests that the aforementioned Lumia 940 XL would be a replacement for the current Lumia 1520, the current high-end phablet from Microsoft Mobile.
According to NPU, the Lumia 940 and 940 XL would have screen sizes of 5 and 5.7 inches, respectively. They would also include a 24- to 25-megapixel rear camera, along with a front-facing camera of at least 5 megapixels. It is also stated that these devices would have support for digital pen, interaction through gestures of 3D Touch (like the ones that the canceled Lumia McLaren was going to have), and the already rumored biometric iris sensor.
In addition, it is said that Microsoft would bet on top-of-the-range specifications in sections such as the processor and RAM.
There would also be news in the mid-range
"The same source indicates that Redmond is also preparing a refresh for the Lumia 830 (Lumia 840?), which would include a Better camera, with 13-14 megapixel resolution and PureView technology, a 5-megapixel front camera, a more modern processor, but keeping the design of the current affordable flagship>"
Finally, rumors mention another device with similar specifications to the Lumia 840, but without PureView technology in the front camera, and a larger, 5.7-inch screen.
It goes without saying that there is no official confirmation regarding any of these devices, but at least the idea of a Lumia 940 with sensor iris and dock support seems to be more credible every day, due to the large number of sources that coincide in the description of the equipment.
