Windows 10 and new mobiles begin to appear in the latest AdDuplex statistics
Like any good end of the month, AdDuplex has released its report on the state of Windows Phone and the market for devices that it's made of. In it, beyond the well-known dominance of Microsoft/Nokia and its low-end mobiles, highlights the early appearance of Windows 10 for mobiles and the discovery of new devices that Redmond could be preparing.
This time, AdDuplex has collected data from more than 5,000 apps using its ad network as of February 19, 2015.From them he has made a snapshot of a system on which important changes are coming, both in the software section with Windows 10, as well as hardware with new smartphones on the way
With the Technical Preview arriving just a couple of weeks ago, it is surprising to see Windows 10 for mobile phones together with the other versions of the systemOf course, only representing 0.2% of devices that mostly work with Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows Phone 8. Between these two versions Redmond's operating system is found by 89% of users.
Among hardware, Microsoft remains the leader with a 96% share thanks to previous work by Nokia and tremendous dominance by Finns for years. The manufacturer's mobiles now owned by those from Redmond continue to dominate the top 10, with a prominent role for the lower ranges.The image in this case is traced to that of previous months, with the only novelty being the presence of the first phone manufactured under the Microsoft brand: the Lumia 535.
Beyond the current market distribution, the change in hardware has to do with the future and with the appearance of new models among the AdDuplex statistics. This month the ad network detected several Microsoft devices that haven't yet seen the light of day and could be arriving as soon as next week.
In the list of new devices we find, on the one hand, terminals with 5 and 5.7-inch screens and 720p resolution (RM -1072, RM-1113 and RM-1062). Both aimed at the lower-middle range, the one with the largest screen being the rumored replacement for the Lumia 1320. On the other hand, a couple of models with a 4-inch screen and 480x800 resolution have also appeared pixelsOne of them seems to be related to the reviled Nokia X, while the other could be a variant of the current Lumia 435 with a better camera.
