HTC was one of the three manufacturers that joined Microsoft in the release of Windows Phone 8 with the HTC 8S and HTC 8X . The two boasted a design that was different from the rest of the Taiwanese smartphones. Two years have passed since then and a lot has changed in the system with the arrival of Windows Phone 8.1, so HTC has decided to return with a renewed strategy.
The HTC One M8 for Windows is HTC's new commitment to the Microsoft system. It is a smartphone with the same appearance and features as the HTC One M8 with Android, but with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 inside. Very careful design and powerful specifications for a mobile that enters directly to compete in the high-end of the system.
HTC One M8 Specifications
The HTC One M8 features a 5-inch Super LCD3 display and 1080p resolution, yielding a density of 441 pixels per inch. Inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.3 GHz processor, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded by up to 128 GB thanks to the presence of a micro SD card slot.
In its metal body, weighing 160 grams, 146.4 millimeters long, 70.6 wide and 9, 4 thick; it fits a 2,600 mAh battery along with all the sensors and extras you'd expect from today's high-end smartphone. There is the connectivity LTE, NFC, WiFi 802.11ac or BT 4.0 LE; along with a pair of front-facing Boomsound speakers that promise great sound.
Ultrapixel technology and dual camera
Separate mention deserves the photographic section. The HTC One M8 has a more than decent 5-megapixel front camera and a pair of rear cameras with special technology. Called Duo Camera, the system boasts the company's Ultrapixel technology.
In this technology, the megapixels of the sensor, specifically 4, do not matter so much, but rather the amount of light it can capture. HTC claims to be able to offer better images in this way. Images that are also improved thanks to the information captured by the second camera, which allows increasing the focus and capture speed and the post-processing possibilities of our images.
Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 with its own touch
Beyond its powerful specifications and peculiar camera features, the HTC One M8 is one of the first smartphones to hit the market with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1That implies having in our hands everything that the latest version of Microsoft's operating system brings with it, Cortana and notification center included, as well as the new features incorporated by its recent update.
Of course, HTC will also provide your smartphone with its own applications, such as BlinkFeed, Sense TV or the photo editor, which have been ported to Windows Phone. And not only that, as the rumors pointed out, the HTC One M8 for Windows will also be able to make use of the Dot View Case Case that will come fully integrated with the system and can also work with Cortana.
