Want a cheap and good Windows Phone? We tell you how to get it

Table of contents:
- Low price doesn't mean bad Windows Phone
- Nokia Lumia 920 for $240-250
- Nokia Lumia 820 for $150-170
- HTC 8X for $170-200
A few days ago I was helping a friend to buy a smartphone in digital stores, and I was surprised by the competitive and interesting prices available by terminals with Windows Phone that still have a lot of cloth to cut.
I thought it was important to make a note of this for all those who want to try Windows Phone and who may not have enough money for a –next– Nokia Lumia 930 and do not want to go for the low-end either . Or maybe for those who are on Windows Phone 7.8 and want to upgrade to the new version.
But before…
Low price doesn't mean bad Windows Phone
Possibly, and more people who are not very familiar with the operating system, will relate that a low price is a bad smartphone and an ugly experience. Maybe this is the case on Android ( although Motorola showed that it wasn't), but on Windows Phone the story is totally different
Terminals like the Nokia Lumia 520 were (and are) successful for offering in exchange for a low price an experience almost similar to that of high-end smartphones .
So keep this in mind when looking at the prices below.
Note: Do not forget to put your country in Aliexpress, the search is like Argentina.
Nokia Lumia 920 for $240-250
When I bought my Nokia Lumia 920 last year I paid nearly double for it (plus carrier contract), and now you can get what was once the high-end Windows Phone for $250 fully released.
Not bad, right? And if you're wondering, I and the community can tell you that the experience with this smartphone has barely suffered after all the updates it's received in the two years it's been on the market.
- On Amazon you will find it for 250-260 dollars. Take a good look that some are exclusively for AT&T. The server should say “Factory Unlocked” or “Unlocked”.
- On Aliexpress you will get it for 180-240 dollars. But keep in mind that almost all these terminals are restored (refurbished).
Nokia Lumia 820 for $150-170
This was the one that impressed me the most. We are talking about a smartphone that has the same processing power as the Nokia Lumia 920, but obviously with a shorter screen, storage and resolution.
In any case, the Nokia Lumia 820 is still a very interesting terminal for the same price that the Nokia Lumia 520 was sold at the time.
- On Amazon you will find it for 150 to 170 dollars. There is little variety of colors and sellers, so there should not be many units left.
- On Aliexpress you can get it for 120 to 140 dollars, obviously repaired.
HTC 8X for $170-200
If you want to bet on an HTC Windows Phone, the company's only high-end phone, the HTC 8X, can be had for $170 to $200. Most are purple, but some have it in lime green and black. As for the HTC 8S, its price is close to that of the 8X, being between 160 and 180 dollars, that's why I don't highlight it.
