Leveraging the use of AI
From Engadget they have had access to information that reveals that the HoloLens 2 would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 platform processor inside A recent SoC model developed expressly to take advantage of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality, and all without losing sight of interactivity, energy consumption and thermal efficiency.
The Snapdragon XR1 integrates the CPU (Central Processing Unit), the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), the vector processor and the Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence Engine, which is in charge of data processing and thus achieve better posture prediction, classification of objects on the screen, etc…
This processor is intended to work with virtual and augmented reality environments and has support for products that work with either 3 or 6 degrees, either on the HoloLens 2 or accompanying controllers. Other enhancements we'll see in the XR1 include support for directional audio, 4K video playback at 60fps, and the ability to use QHD (2K) resolution displays.
The new HoloLens will have an improved Kinect-based camera to cover and offer a greater field of view and will work on the version of Windows 10 for ARM processorsWe can only wait to confirm if the rumors come true.
