Are you a USB mouse ninja with your laptop and annoyed by the built-in trackpad? So you can disable it

Anonim

Modern laptops have a built-in _trackpad_ that offers better and better performance on almost all models. Personally I can't work or live without the integrated trackpad but there are many users who still prefer to use an external mouse or _trackpad_ that connect via USB because they find it more comfortable to use.

You should only connect it to one of the laptop's ports so that it can be used more according to your needs. One step that can pose a problem, however, is that the integrated _trackpad_ is still active so any accidental brushing on the surface could interfere with our task.

The best solution is to disable the built-in _trackpad_ but not permanently and have the system itself disable it when detecting an external pointing deviceconnected via USB. It is a very simple process that in a few steps we are going to teach you how to carry out.

"

To change the functionality we move to the Start Menu, bottom left and thus access the options Setting."

"

Within Settings you must access the category of Devices , the second quadrant from the left."

"

Once inside devices we must navigate through the left bar and in the list press where we read Touch panel."

"

Once inside Touch panel we must go to the right and press where it reads Additional configurationunder the legend Additional Configuration Options ."

"

When clicking on Additional configuration a smaller window opens with a series of tabs in which one marked by default will appear, in In this case Click Pad Configuration and in it we must look for a box with the legend Disable the internal pointing device when connecting a pointing device external via USB"

We check the box and if we have any device of this type connected by USB the touch panel will stop working.

To return to the previous state we must uncheck the box and we can do it either with the external device or if this fails only by disconnecting the USB socket so that the built-in touch panel will be automatically re-enabled.
