Windows in short: new Microsoft deals
New Sunday in which it is time to compile news about the Windows universe and everything that surrounds Microsoft products and services. Among them this week, Xbox One stood out. The console received the long-awaited 'Titanfall', a game that has generated great repercussions everywhere, and in Redmond they have dedicated themselves to playing beautifully during these seven days.
While in other universes there was talk of the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web, the premiere of the Veronica Mars film financed through Kickstarter or the interview with Edward Snowden at the SXSW festival.Closer touches the news of the 'supposed' million reservations of the Nokia X in China. - Mason Morfit, president of ValueAct, the investment fund that lobbied hardest for change at Microsoft, has this week obtained its announcement position on the company's board of directors.
- Barnes & Noble has reached a new agreement with Microsoft that could mean the retirement of its Nook app for Windows 8 and a new Redmond reading app.
- During these days it has been known that Microsoft canceled its program for the United States whereby an Xbox 360 could be purchased for $99 with a two-year contract on Xbox Live.
- WhatsApp continues to regularly update its private beta application for Windows Phone, now including the option to customize the background image of conversations and paving the way for a big update that could arrive later this month.
- Speaking of telecommunications services, Skype has updated its client for Xbox One to improve the synchronization of conversations and notifications.
- According to NPD, Xbox One has sold 285,000 units during the month of February in the United States. Despite this, it has lagged behind the Playstation 4 for the second month in a row.
