Windows for short: Windows Phone statistics

Anonim

This has been a strange week, after all it started in 2013 and ends in 2014. But the news doesn't rest and the last week of last year and the first week of this year has also left us with a good compilation of news to which we now add many others that remained in the inkwell. One more Sunday, welcome to Windows in short

With our eyes set on next week's CES we have not stopped talking about some of the devices that companies could display at the fair. But the year could not end without the corresponding portion of news about the NSA maneuvers and without a review of some of the novelties that await us this 2014 that has just begun. And in the Windows universe there is additional news that is worth rescuing before closing the week.

  • At TechCrunch they end the year by analyzing the lack of stock of Surface and its consequences for Microsoft's quarterly results.
  • According to StatCounter, Windows Phone currently accounts for 2% of mobile traffic.
  • A study reveals that average data consumption is lower on Windows Phone than on iOS and Android.
  • A pair of veteran Microsoft employees are leaving the company at the end of the year: Jon DeVaan and Grant George.
  • Skype's blog and social media accounts were used by the Syrian Electronic Army group to send messages against Microsoft and espionage from the NSA.
  • Nokia's Lumia Black update will start rolling out to Chinese users next week, other countries will follow in the first quarter of the year.
  • Larry Hyrb, aka Major Nelson, has come to the defense of Xbox One, announcing upcoming changes.
  • Kinect helps you build your own action figure with a 3D printer.

So far our transition week between one year and another in the Windows universe. In the next seven days, 2014 will welcome us with what we hope will be a lot of news coming from CES in Las Vegas. From Xataka Windows we will try to tell you all of them and we will return next Sunday compiling everything that did not reach the cover.
