Windows in short: the new Surface

Anonim

A week ends as a farewell to summer and return to work or classes for many, and once again we review all the additional news that these seven days have brought about. Returning to the routine is difficult when Microsoft's purchase of Nokia's handset division is still kicking in the air and many are still trying to adapt to the new scenario.

But meanwhile the rest of the technological market continues to function and during these days another edition of the IFA fair has ended. Intel has also had its share of prominence as a result of everything shown during its annual IDF fair. And the European Union has made us a bit happy to be back at work with its plan to end roaming on the continent by 2016. For its part, in the Windows universe we've had a bit of everything

  • It will be a long time and we will continue talking about the purchase of Nokia by Microsoft. This week the New York Times reports that finns were testing Android on their Lumia smartphones.
  • On September 23 we will finally know the new versions of the Microsoft Surface tablets, but one more week we have had the corresponding round of rumors, including information about a Surface Mini and an alleged Surface Phone.
  • The current generation of Surface has also been in the news with the offer that Redmond has prepared in the United States and Canada: $200 for your old iPad .
  • Meanwhile, Microsoft continues to bet heavily on Bing and in these days has added 13 million square kilometers of aerial imagery to the service maps from your browser.
  • Steve Ballmer's retirement as Microsoft CEO has opened the battle for his succession. During this week we have been able to learn about the commitment of some of the company's main investors: Alan Mulally, current CEO of Ford.
  • Looking back, it is surprising how these years have gone with Ballmer at the helm after seeing some of the products that Microsoft imagined in a video from 2000.
  • Perhaps it's better that Redmond's bring back videos like the one above and stop other ads like the latest iPhone parodies that have raised a lot of controversy .

So far a new week. From now on, the remainder of the year is full of news and in Xataka Windows we will try not to miss a detail, either with the daily news or with this weekly summary of Windows in short .
