Microsoft is working on improving user security when browsing using Edge and incidentally making websites more transparent. And it's doing this through a new feature that it's testing on a limited basis on a small number of users.

An improvement that can be seen by clicking on the padlock icon that appears on most web pages. An icon that what it does is make it easier for us to know if the connection to the page is encrypted and, in some cases, offer extra information.Information that increases with the new system that Microsoft tests in Edge.

A more transparent navigation

"

This is a limited trial, which means that even if you install the latest version of Edge Canary, it doesn&39;t mean you&39;ll see it activated. In fact, the first step to activate it is to enter the menu flags>Edge Underside Pane."

"

Once activated, you must go to Settings and look for the option Turn on site safety services to get more info about the sites you visit (Turn on site security services to get more information about the sites you visit) under Privacy, Search & Services In fact, although I have the button, in my case I don&39;t have it active."

What this option does is increase the amount of information that appears in the pop-up window when we click on the padlock button. In this way you can see shortcuts to the different social networks related to the website or a small entry with information taken from Wikipedia. This new information continues to appear alongside the information we already know.

The padlock function continues to let us know that the connection on that website is encrypted, that the company or entity behind it the website is who it claims to be, the permissions granted, the cookies used and any trackers present.
