The system updates for Windows provide endless benefits for all users of the system, whether in its desktop version, for desktop and laptop computers, or in the tablet version.
Windows 8.1 is often updated to offer improvements and, above all, strengthen the security of the operating system. The latest update, called Windows 8.1 Update, brings a feature that many will appreciate: the ability to boot the system to our Desktop
Practicality at the click of a button
There are many types of users within the Windows ecosystem. There are those who enjoy all the applications, Home Screen tiles and other system benefits at the touch of a finger, on their touch screen or on their tablet.
But we also have to take into account that, generally, there are many people or companies that use their Windows computers for work and find it impractical to directly access the Screen Startup every time they boot their computers.
As we said, with the update Windows 8.1 Update we have the opportunity to change the way our system boots.
How to start Windows 8.1 from our desktop
There are a couple of methods to tell Windows that we want to directly access the desktop when starting our system. One of them would be configuring a couple of options in the Windows Control Panel, but we are going to know another even more direct way to do it.
We just have to go to the Desktop itself and click with the right mouse button on the taskbar. When a pop-up menu appears, we must select “Properties”.
Once inside the Properties window, we have to go to the upper tab called “Navigation”. Here, within the section “Start Screen” we will find a new selectable option: “When logging in or closing all applications a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start”.
By marking it, we will tell our system to do exactly what it tells us: Go to the Windows Desktop by default.
