- The first step we must take will be to look for the link to the drivers on the website of the manufacturer of our device.
- After performing the search, we can see that the second result contains the drivers we need
- Within this link, we will click on the button download and we will save the file wherever we want.
Generally, the file that we download is a file with the extension exe that will be unzipped later in a folder and among the unzipped files there will be one of They have the extension inf This file extension is the one generally used by all drivers and it will be the file that we have to select when we install our device.
Unzip the file and install the drivers
Once we have downloaded our file, we must carry out the following steps to correctly install them in our system:
- We execute the downloaded file and in our particular case we can see a dialog window like the following, in which we will click on unzip
- Once uncompressed, if we access the folder where the files have been extracted (in our case c:\OkiDriver\Oki3x00) we can see that we have a file with the aforementioned extension.inf
- The next step we must perform is to press our start button and write Control Panel
- Within the control panel, click on the option Add a device
- In our case, we select the printer we want to install and press Next
- A dialog window opens and we go to the directory where we had unzipped the drivers, showing only the one with the extension inf
- Once selected, we will have our printer in the list to choose it, we press continue and we can finish the installation of our printer correctly
As you can see, thanks to the versatility and efficiency of our system, in a few simple steps at the click of a mouse, we will have our conflicting device correctly installed and working in our operating system Windows 8.
