Configure the behavior of SkyDrive on your Windows Phone 8

The process of uploading the files is done automatically, for example when you take a photo, without us having to specifically say that we want to upload the photo to SkyDrive.

Even so, we can change the way SkyDrive behaves on our Windows Phone 8, and choose, for example, when it should upload images and with what quality.In your application, we can also choose to resize (or not) the images that we upload or download.

Storing photos and videos on SkyDrive

By default, if we have the SkyDrive application installed on our terminal and a Microsoft account linked to it, all the photos and videos that are stored on it will be loaded automatically automatically to the cloud service from the guys from Redmond. To choose the quality of uploaded photos, or even disable this feature, go to the Photos hub.

If in this section we click on the name of SkyDrive, we can choose between uploading the photos and videos at maximum quality when a Wi-Fi network is available, at medium quality if the data connection allows it, or do not load anything automatically.

Although you don't want to upload anything automatically, from the photo hub albums you can upload everything you want manually without any problem.

Apart from automatic synchronization, we can also choose if we want SkyDrive to resize the photos that we upload and download through its application for Windows Phone 8.

This option is available in its configuration section, which is accessed from the lower menu that you can display from any section of the application.

Take into account that if your data connection is reduced, or you have reached your limit and you are charged for the extra MB consumed, it is best to let both upload and download resize.

Synchronization removes barriers

I'm sure that with these two little tips you'll be able to configure SkyDrive and its automatic synchronization to your liking. And there is nothing more convenient than recording a video or taking a photo, and knowing that when you get home you will have them available from your tablet or PC on SkyDrive, without having to connect your mobilevia USB.
