We are back once again with a new edition of The best games for Windows 8, where remember that you can send your proposals as a Comment if you would like us to analyze any in particular. You won't be able to say you're bored anymore if you have Windows 8!
In the previous article we looked at Roman Empire, Monsters Love Candy and Skiddy the Slippery Puzzle. This time, we face a collection of logic puzzles: Blocked In, NumberTap and Microsoft Mahjong.
Blocked In
Blocked In is a completely free puzzle game, in which our objective is to get the red piece out of the right part of the screen , having to move the rest of the pieces to allow the passage of the first one. The only rule is that we can only move them the way they are placed, that is, if a piece is vertical we can only move it up or down; and whether it is horizontal to the left or right.
Our final score will depend on the number of movements that we make in total, since each level has established the minimum necessary with which it could be resolved if the player does not have a failure, and based on this calculate.
As you can see in the attached image, the game has an advertisement on the side, but apart from this we have full access to all its content without having to pay anything.
NumberTap
NumberTap is a free game in which our objective is to solve different mathematical operations at full speed, since time is running against ours and we have a total of 100 problems to solve among which addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, exponents can appear...
The game features a global stats section where all players ranked by their in-game achievements will appear, as well as a weekly top and an Xbox Live-style achievements section.
We also have the possibility to synchronize our NumberTap for Windows Phone and NumberTap for Windows 8 profiles, both free versions, so that our statistics on both platforms add up.
Microsoft Mahjong
Microsoft Mahjong brings to Windows 8 users the traditional board game of Chinese origin, albeit in a version to play solo , where you will find entertainment for many hours.
This game consists of grouping tiles that are on the edges of any of the levels of the board, with various conditions such as that you cannot use a tile if it has a higher level above it, or if it is surrounded by other tiles. In order to combine one with the other, both must be on the outside of their corresponding level, as I mentioned at the beginning, and the game ends when the player picks up all the tiles without any time limit or attempts.
In case we get stuck in this game that can become very complex in its higher levels, we have the possibility to undo our moves, obtain tracks that we have limited by game, or mix all the tiles to see if we are able to find a solution by seeing it with another distribution.
The game is very complete and makes use of Xbox Live, thus allowing us to synchronize our statistics, obtain daily challenges, maintain a prize section based on our achievements... And all this distributed in 4 theme themes and organized in 16 distributions classified in 4 levels of difficulty.
Microsoft Mahjong is available for free in the Windows 8 Store.
