Once upon a time... Office Crossing
Table of contents:
Microsoft has launched a viral campaign to promote the new version of its office suite Microsoft Office It&39;s called Office Crossing, and consists of a series of tablets and laptops that are left abandoned in public places, so that anyone passing by can pick them up and take them home for a day. "
This is a movement similar to that of the bookcroosing initiatives, but with the particularity that the people who take the device home must participate in the writing a collaborative story, halves with other people. All this through different Microsoft Office tools in the cloud.
The idea is to use the different applications of the Office Suite in the cloud - Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Skype, OneNote, ... - and share the work created by all users in the virtual environment. As can be seen in the different videos that illustrate the campaign (Teaser 1, Teaser 2, Teaser 3), people's reactions are not always the same, although the common factor of surprise is evident in all of them. It is something out of the ordinary. What would you do if you found an abandoned tablet on the street inviting you to participate in Officecrossing?
Surely, most of us would act with surprise and curiosity, as can be seen in the video with the people who have been caught on camera. The new versions of Office tools will surely cause the same surprise to these people, with the new interface adapted to Windows 8, and its functionality prepared to work in the cloud, collaborating with other people.
For those who want to follow the campaign and find out a little more, they can do so through Twitter in different ways: through the OfficeSpain account and the hashtags ElNuevoOffice and Officecrossing.
The Office Crossing experience keeps going
"In case you are one of the lucky ones who comes across a tablet or laptop from this Microsoft Office campaign, in the video shown at the end of the post you will see some ideas to write a few lines in this collaborative experience. Please note that there will be more Office Crossing experiences."
The next event will have the educational segment as its protagonist and in the future it will also reach sectors such as tourism and social events. If you want to be aware of all the details of this and those to come, don't forget that you can follow the campaign on Twitter, where various licenses for the tool will also be raffled.
