Have fun on all your devices with Xbox Games!

In recent years, videogames have been gaining prominence at a dizzying pace, until they are on almost all devices on the current market. Those times where the only possibilities to enjoy digital entertainment were on consoles or computers are behind us; Now any mobile phone or tablet, for example, allows you to play wherever you are.

With Xbox Games we are given the possibility to share all the information and statistics of our favorite games between different devicesIn this post we will mainly analyze its operation under Windows 8, and we will briefly comment on its operation and synchronization on Windows Phone and Xbox 360.

Xbox Games, your leisure center

As soon as you open the app, the first thing you see is a group of featured games in the spotlightsection. If we click on any of them, a tab will appear with a brief summary and the corresponding options.

If we select the option to play the game, in case we do not have it installed on that device, we will be informed that we can go to the Store to obtain it. There will be information about whether the game is free or paid, as well as whether it has a trial version.

Once installed, the game will be pinned to the Start menu automatically, although we can always remove it and make it only available for your launch from Xbox Games via the play option.

From here, but also from the summary tab, we can reproduce the official trailer of the game and read all the information about it. In addition, we'll see a list of available achievements and our progress in unlocking them, along with a leaderboard that will compare our top marks against those of those friends who also have the game.

In the section “game activity” the last used games will appear, indicating if they were run from Modern UI, desktop or Windows Phone . This list can be sorted chronologically or alphabetically.

Windows Play Store and Xbox Play StoreThey act as a preview of all the games that use Xbox Live, although to install them we will always have to go to the Store, at least for now. In the case of the store dedicated to the Microsoft console, if we have Xbox Smartglass and our console is synchronized, we can run the games directly from any Windows 8 or Windows Phone devicethat also have that same application, and perform various actions with them.

To the far left will appear our Xbox Live profile and the friends that we have added. We will be able to edit our profile or avatar without leaving the application, see a list of all the achievements that we have unlocked or share all this information on social networks.All this, without ever leaving Xbox Games.

As for the friends section, it will show us their connection status and through their profiles we can make comparisons of achievements or eliminate them.

Synchronization between devices

Those users who have a Windows Phone mobile or an Xbox 360 and have games available on all Microsoft platforms including Windows 8, will be able to keep the progress of the game that they started, for example, on their tablet or PC, to continue from Windows Phone, in addition to other features discussed throughout the article such as sharing achievements.

Not all games will behave this way, and at the moment there is no list indicating which ones do and which ones don't. Wordament does, for example, by preserving the flags you set instead of using them for each device only.
