If you have recently started using AirPods, today I am going to provide you with three simple tips that will improve your relationship with this fantastic accessory.

"Baptize"

Probably not the most useful advice in the world, but naming an accessory will always give it a personal touch. By default, AirPods will be called “AirPods from (your name)”. This is fine, but why not give them their own identity by assigning them a specific name? To do this, once you have paired your new headphones to an iOS device, open the Settings app, go to the Bluetooth section and touch the "i" that you will see next to your AirPods. Now click on Name and assign them an identity.

Customize the double tap gesture

By default, double-tapping will display Siri. I am sure that many users have kept it that way, however, it is not my case and perhaps you also prefer to make some changes.

Go back to the Settings app, access the Bluetooth section, touch the "i" you see next to your headphones. Now you will see an option where you can configure each AirPod individually by assigning it a function between Siri , Play / Pause , Next track , Previous and Off .

Using a single AirPod to extend battery life

AirPods have a range of up to five hours, but what you may not know is that those five hours correspond to the two headphones. Thus, you can double the autonomy of the headphones using only one of them until it runs out. Then put that AirPod in its case and use the other earpiece.

Fortunately, a single AirPod charges fairly quickly: with 15 minutes, you can enjoy up to three hours of use.
