There are usually Windows 10 computers that make a legal notice before logging in, this is usually very common in the business sector. The funny thing is that Windows 10 does not offer the possibility of adding such messages from its options.

In order to add a message before logging in, we will have to resort to directly editing the Windows 10 registry, a move that can be very simple and that we explain below.

Adding the message to the Windows 10 registry

1 - The first thing we will need is to download this compressed file, courtesy of the people of How to Geek. Inside the compressed file we are going to find two.reg files, which add a code to the Windows registry. The file that interests us is Add Legal Notice to Startup.

Add Legal Notice to Startup is the.reg file that we are going to edit.

2 - The Notepad will surely open to start editing the file. Once inside, we will see that there are two fields in quotation marks that say "Type Your Title Here". It is here where we are going to replace them with the text that we want, a rase of our authorship, a quote from some author, a notice, etc., whatever we want (the quotation marks must be kept).

3 - The edited file should look like this with our text. Once edited, we will save it. Next we double click on the edited file to add the entry to the Windows 10 registry.

That's it, when you restart your computer, the message you have edited will be seen.

How to delete the personalized message

In case you want to delete the message at Windows 10 startup, double-click the file Remove legal notice from startup, which came in the compressed file that we downloaded earlier.

I hope it has been useful to you and see you next time.
