MSI has announced that it is the first X570 motherboard manufacturer to officially release BIOS updates using AMD's new AGESA 1.0.0.4 Patch B code, which offers AM4 motherboard users “massive enhancements at all points related to debugging and optimization ”.

AGESA 1.0.0.4 improves BIOS boot times by 20%

Yesterday we told you about this update and how it improved the boost clock frequencies, but there are more improvements, which can even be more advantageous than a couple of extra MHz.

After extensively testing AMD's AGESA 1.0.0.0.3 ABBA update, we know the latest AMESA AGESA updates are worth installing, with version 1.0.0.4 promising a wide range of bug fixes along with boot times faster.

The new update will come with the great novelty that the system boot times have been significantly improved. We know that faster CPUs, memory, and storage media help speed up boot times, but only once the BIOS boot time has passed. With AGESA 1.0.0.4, MSI claims that BIOS boot times will be 20% faster, which is a significant increase for any computer on the AM4 platform.

MSI AGESA 1.0.0.4 updates will also provide support for Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G to X570 motherboards, a feature that was missing from previous BIOS updates. Now MSI is working hard to bring the new version of AGESA to older 400 and 300 AM4 series motherboards.

The above results have been obtained using an MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE motherboard with a Ryzen5 3600 CPU and 2 8GB DDR4 modules.

The update should be available next week for MSI motherboards.
