Allo, news of the new google messaging client

Allo is a new instant messaging client powered by Google that tries to improve the user experience when communicating, with emojis, stickers and even the possibility of drawing on the photographs before sending them to your friends and contacts who use Allo, Among other functions.

Allo exceeds 5 million downloads in a week

Allo was officially launched on Google Play on September 20 and has already reached some 5 million downloads, so there seems to be a lot of interest from Android users to try this new messaging client that will seek to rival WhatsApp.

We are going to try to review some of the most outstanding characteristics of Allo.

Google Assistant

This functionality brings us useful information immediately in our conversations without leaving the chat. In this way we can make a query about any topic that occurs to us within the chat and Google Assistant will provide us with that information immediately. In the image you can see some examples and can be activated with the command @google

This functionality is not yet available in Spanish.

Smart answers or quick answers

First of all, Allo allows us to automatically respond in a conversation if we wish, this means that some words will be suggested to us as a quick response during a chat session but based on the way you write. They will not be predefined answers as it happened in the old Nokia phones, but everything will be personalized according to your way of writing, something that can save us a lot of time when it comes to communicating.

Another function will be the one offered by Google Assistant, for example, if we ask what the weather will be today, Google will inform us of the weather conditions, at the same time that it will offer us a series of quick answers based on that topic. We may also direct you to send us information on that specific topic every day.

Incognito mode

We can have private conversations with any contact by encrypting messages and it will also be possible to indicate the expiration date of the messages so that they are automatically deleted after the time we have specified.

Greater personalization of your messages

There are many ways to communicate with Allo, firstly it allows you to change the size of the texts to give more emphasis to some response, you can write and draw on the photographs you send and use a large number of emojis and stickers to give it a touch more personal and more alive to your conversations compared to other similar applications.

Allo is now available on Google Play for free for all Android users. It remains to be seen if he manages to seduce WhatsApp, Telegram, Line or Facebook Messenger users in this field of instant messaging.
