With the proliferation of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), mobility has also increased, both personally and at work and in the field of studies. We like, and on many occasions, we need to have our files available anywhere and anytime, which has led to a wide offer of cloud storage services, but which are the most important and what prices do they offer us? ?

Your files in the cloud, and from anywhere

While most smartphone and tablet manufacturers continued to offer entry models with just 16 GB of internal storage, photos, videos, games were growing in quality and, therefore, also in size. Thus, some of these companies, such as Apple, were empowering their cloud storage services while other specialized services were also taking advantage of the pull. It was in this way that, what at first was comfort, ended up becoming a need, although this, of course, depends on each user.

In addition, we are taking more and more photos and videos, and many of us often work from tablets. We want and need to always have our files, regardless of the access device, the place where we are or what time it is, instead of being loaded with USB memory sticks or external hard drives. For this, we currently have different options. All of them offer us a free volume of digas to start and, from there, we can expand according to our needs. Let's see which are the main ones and their price plans so you can choose better.

Dropbox

I'm going to start with Dropbox , probably one of the most popular and one that offers better performance and synchronization. I have been using it for a lot of years and at update it is my basic cloud service for text documents (Word, PDFs, etc.). Initially, it offers you 2 GB free, a pittance, but that you can expand through different loyalty actions (this is how I have achieved almost ten say free). And if you need more, you can get 1 TB for € 9.99 per month.

Dropbox integrates seamlessly into your computer, both Windows and Mac, as one more folder. Just keep your documents there and you will have them available everywhere.

iCloud

iCloud is Apple's cloud, basic for every iPhone and iPad user. With just 5 GB of free storage, its fundamental utility is to keep backup copies of your devices, although I already tell you that the free plan falls short at the first change. You can expand to 50 GB for only € 0.99 a month (which is what I have contracted) but if you need more, you can also opt for 200 GB and 1TB plans at € 2.99 and € 9.99 a month respectively. Of course, you can also save files and documents available in the iCloud Drive app (soon replaced by the Files app) and on the web, and your photos and videos will also be in sync.

Google Drive

The Google cloud is another of the most popular options. It offers 15 GB of free entry, which is very generous. In addition, it integrates seamlessly with your office tools and is ideal for collaborative work. It works equally well on Android and iOS devices, and also via the web.

And to top it off, if you use the Google Photos service with its “maximum quality” option and no original resolution, the backup of all your photos and videos will not take away space on your Drive.

And if you need more, you can expand with a 100 GB plan for € 1.99 a month, 1 TB for € 9.99 a month or 10 TB for € 99.99 a month. From there, you can add pears ten by ten by adding one hundred euros plus your fee.

Like Dropbox, it integrates perfectly into your Mac or Windows computer as one more folder that will always keep the contents in sync.

OneDrive

OneDrive (formerly called SkyDrive), is Microsoft's cloud service. Like Google, it offers 15 GB of free storage that we can expand to 100 GB for 1.99 euros per month, 200 GB for € 2.99 per month or 1 TB, in the latter case also including the subscription to Office 365, the office suite of this company.

Box

Nor can we ignore Box , a cloud storage service that, in essence, is very similar to the previous ones but that, however, is more focused on the business and business sector. But you can also use them on a personal level and it offers 10 GB of free storage that you can expand to 100 GB for € 8 per month and thus, you can also upload files up to 5 GB in size. It also offers complete integration with Office 365 tools, with Google Suite, with Slack, etc.

Mega

Created by the controversial “Dotcom” (the creator of the closed Megaupload), although it is no longer in your hands, Mega offers us 50 GB of free storage, with a great focus on the security and privacy of our files and documents: extreme encryption to the extreme so "not even MEGA can access them!"

And if you need more space, you can get a 200 GB plan for € 4.99 per month, 1 TB for € 9.99, 4 TB for € 19.99 or 8 TB for € 29.99, being able to access your things both from the web and from the dedicated apps on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Hubic

We end with Hubic , one of the not so well-known but very affordable cloud storage services. Open an account and get 25 GB for free, which will be increased to 10 TB for € 50 a year.

There are other cloud storage services but these are the most important, popular and secure. Also, if you combine several of them (one for documents, others for videos, one for photos…), you can take advantage of everything they offer you for free.
