For months, there has been speculation about a very possible rise in the price of Amazon Prime in Spain, due to the fact that its price was considerably lower than in the rest of Europe. It is now when the price increase has been made official. Let's see what has changed in the Amazon Prime subscription…

Amazon Prime price rise, from 19.95 to 36 euros

Many users are already receiving an email clearly indicating the price increase: " The price of the annual Amazon Prime subscription has increased from € 19.95 to € 36.00 on August 31, 2018."

The change does not affect users who have to renew their subscription before October 2, and they can enjoy another year paying the previous price. However, those who are not subscribed can already see an annual cost of 36 euros on the Amazon website .

As an alternative, there is still the option to contract Prime with a fee of € 4.99 / month, something that may be interesting for users who are going to make many purchases during specific months. Maintaining this subscription for 3 months would cost around 20 euros, while paying 12 months in this way would cost 60 euros.

Prime prices in different countries have always been much higher than in Spain. In the UK, it costs around 90 years. In the United States, about 84 euros. In France, € 49. Only in Spain and Italy the price was just 20 euros.

In all the aforementioned countries (except Italy), the Prime subscription included several advantages more than in Spain. However, our French neighbors only enjoy the 'Prime Library' service together with all the advantages of Spain. That is, they pay 49 euros for practically the same advantages that are offered on Amazon.es, so it was expected that a price rise would come. In any case, many users prefer to pay the normal fee so far (€ 19.95 / year) at the cost of losing all benefits except free shipping. What do you think of Amazon's decision?
