Amazon bans the sale of usb cables

We have good news about the sale of USB-C cables without official certification, some of which caused major problems in some smartphones and laptops, and that is that Amazon has prohibited their sale through its platform.

The online store has added uncertified USB-C cables to the list of items that can no longer be sold on its website. The same list also includes pirated DVDs and other non-certified electrical products.

The new note added by Amazon on its page states the following:

"Any USB-C (or USB Type-C) cable or adapter that does not meet the standard specifications issued by the 'USB Implementers Forum Inc.' it cannot be marketed ”.

In other words, all USB-C cables that can suddenly damage or shut down a device will be banned from Amazon.

Despite this regulation, the company does not have it too easy to prevent the sale of fake cables on its platform. The company will have to closely monitor the merchant community if it wants to prevent the sale of this product.

Problems with USB-C cables were initially reported by Benson Leung, a Google engineer who experienced the dangers of their own use, after a USB-C cable tore apart his Pixel during compatibility tests.

Aside from these cables, there is also the problem of smartphone chargers, which can do even more damage to mobile devices. Amazon and other companies have warned many times about its use and the potential risks involved. Whenever you buy peripherals or accessories for your mobile, tablet or PC, make sure they have the official certification and are manufactured by recognized brands.
