Next, we see what are the most important changes in this version.

Added support for Vulkan

  • VK_EXT_host_query_reset

Allows you to restart queries from the host instead of from the GPU.

  • VK_EXT_full_screen_exclusive

Provides applications with explicit control over exclusive full-screen modes (this is useful, for example, for HDR support).

  • VK_AMD_display_native_hdr

Show FreeSync2 features to improve HDR compatibility.

  • VK_EXT_separate_stencil_usage

Separates usage indicators from the depth / template aspects of a depth / template image, allowing you to restrict / expand usage relative to the depth aspect.

  • VK_KHR_uniform_buffer_standard_layout

It provides a more flexible alignment for uniform buffers, allowing, among other things, the use of std430 layouts in Vulkan.

Fixed issues

  • Wireless VR may experience performance drops in various games with Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 graphics. Performance Metrics Overlay may not turn on or off when combined with Radeon Overlay. A TDR may occur when exiting some games using the DirectX12 API when multiple displays are connected and in mirroring mode. Microsoft PIX tool could crash when connecting a GPU using AMD XConnect technology. Previously Crackdown3 could experience hang on Radeon R7 370 graphics.
