While many were looking forward to testing their new AMD Radeon VII graphics cards, a rather embarrassing omission from 'Team Red' came to light. Specifically, they had completely forgotten to include UEFI support.

AMD Radeon VII will soon have UEFI support, confirms AMD

The issue caused significant startup issues (specifically in safe mode) with the graphics card that essentially refused to be recognized. This in itself created and caused countless other difficulties that have frustrated many homeowners.

Although AMD quickly recognized the problem, they offered no explanation or apology. The good news is that AMD has already released firmware updates for its partners and, better yet, they promise a “1-click fix” solution for those unfamiliar with how to update their BIOS.

The Red Team Release

If you are experiencing this problem, what you should do right now is check the motherboard manufacturer's support website for a firmware update to fix the problem. If not, it will be necessary to wait very soon for the update that AMD will offer from its own website.
