The latest AMD Ryzen and Intel Core CPU sales figures are already on the table, once again showing the red team dominating sales and ranking first for three consecutive quarters at MindFactory , Germany's largest retailer. The latest report has been revealed, showing us how the Ryzen 7 2700X is the most popular CPU of the moment.

Germany's largest retailer reveals AMD's dominance in current CPU sales

If you look at the previous market share reports from the same retailer, we would see that AMD has been leading both market share and revenue share. In fact, this is the third consecutive quarter in which Ryzen CPUs have outsold Intel Core CPUs.

There are a number of reasons Intel's sales declined over time, primarily due to its inability to manufacture enough eighth and ninth generation processors due to limited 14nm production. This not only led to fewer Intel CPUs available on the market, but also meant a price increase at many retailers, making AMD's option more tempting in terms of price / performance.

The latest report for the month of March (2019) shows that the retailer sold 69% of the CPUs manufactured by AMD, while the remaining 31% was part of the Intel family. AMD sold (~ 13, 000 units) more than twice as many CPUs as its competitor, which sold around 6, 000 units in the same span.

The report also shows that between the two flagships, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X ended up being much more popular than the Intel Core i9-9900K. The reason is quite simple, the Core i9-9900K costs almost twice as much as the Ryzen 7 2700X.
