Microsoft has announced that it will add AMD FreeSync technology to its Xbox One game consoles, thanks to which players will be able to enjoy games free of tearing and stutter.
FreeSync will improve the fluency of Xbox One games
AMD FreeSync is a technology that allows monitors to adjust their refresh rate dynamically to match the number of images per second that the PC graphics card or game console sends them. This will be especially important in video games that have a highly variable FPS rate, as it will allow players to enjoy a much more fluid experience.

In this way, the Xbox One will become the first console compatible with this AMD FreeSync technology, it will be the S and X models that will benefit from it. Xbox Inside users will be able to enjoy this new feature starting next week, through an alpha update for the console.
There are currently no FreeSync-compatible TVs, therefore Xbox One users will only be able to use this new feature on FreeSync-compatible monitors. Consoles do not have DisplayPort video outputs, forcing users to further restrict their search to a monitor with FreeSync support over the HDMI connector.
It remains to be seen if Sony also updates its PS4 to make them compatible with this FreeSync technology, technically it is possible since, like the Microsoft console, they are based on a fully compatible AMD graphics card.
