Amd opteron a1100 series with cortex a57 cores

AMD has taken an important step forward in the server market with the launch of its new AMD Opteron A1100 Series microprocessors consisting of powerful and efficient ARM Cortex A57 processing cores.

This release confirms AMD's interest in ARM's 64-bit RISC microarchitecture and marks a step forward in server energy efficiency while delivering high performance.

The AMD Opteron A1100 Series is the company's first Sunnyvale SoC based on the 64-bit ARM Cortex A57 architecture and offers high data throughput and high connectivity.

They will be available in configurations of up to 8 cores (TDP 35W) with 4 MB of L2 cache and 8 MB of L3 cache. Its specifications are rounded out by an integrated 2x 64-bit DDR3 / DDR4 memory controller with support for up to 128GB 1866MHz with ECC, two Ethernet interfaces, eight PCI-Express 3.0 lines and up to 14 SATA III ports for huge storage capacity. As for security, they are fully compatible with ARM's TrustZone technology.
