During Computex 2019 it is difficult to deny that we are very impressed with what AMD has had to show us, especially at the CPU level. However, some benchmark results are coming out showing that AMD may have slightly overstated the performance of the Ryzen 7 3800X.

A new benchmark of the Ryzen 7 3800X appears

One of the main revelations during the event was its upcoming third-generation Ryzen 7 3800X processor. A processor that will become one of the "flagships" of its latest range of CPUs.

Following official performance figures given, new results have appeared that seem to indicate that AMD may have significantly overestimated the power of the 3800X.

These are the official results of AMD

In the official presentation, AMD was eager to claim that its 3800X processor was more powerful than the Intel i7 8700k. Furthermore, also that the processor (with a 7nm design) was noticeably faster than the previous Ryzen 7 2700X processor.

The new independent results

CSGO's independent performance tests, however, show that in a direct comparison (apparently using the same 'base' system) the Intel processor scored significantly higher FPS scores than those suggested by AMD (456 vs. 443 fps).

AMD, Intel or even NVIDIA always show performance figures where the methodologies used are not specified too much. In other words, each one sweeps for home, especially in the presentations.

Surely we will have to wait until the media can get hold of one of these chips and further tests are carried out to know exactly its real performance.

The three Ryzen 9 3900X, Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 7 3700X processors will be released on July 7.
