It seems that this year we are going to have a Computex with a lot of movement, AMD plans the announcement of two new mid-range graphics cards during the popular event, we are talking about the Radeon R9 480 and the Radeon R7 470.

Radeon R9 480 and R7 470 would be the first Polaris graphics cards

The Radeon R9 480 and Radeon R7 470 will be based respectively on the silicon "Baffin" and "Ellesmere" respectively to offer a great improvement in performance and especially in energy efficiency thanks to their Polaris architecture at 14nm. The R7 470 will arrive to replace the R7 370 with a TDP that could be as low as 50W, so it will not require an auxiliary power connector to operate. For its part, the R9 480 will be the substitute for the R9 380 and it will also be a great improvement in efficiency with a TDP of 110-135W vs the 190W of the R9 380.

The Radeon R9 480 would have a total of 2, 304 active stream processors and supposedly 8GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface. For its part, the core frequency could be kept fairly relaxed at 800-1050 Mhz to achieve a level of performance similar to the R9 390 with half the consumption.
