AMD has begun to give details on the new RX 470 and RX 460 graphics cards, the younger sisters of the RX 480 with which the company will complete its offer in the RX range based on the Polaris architecture.

AMD has given the first details of the younger sisters of the RX 480

AMD Radeon RX 470

During a special event in Australia, AMD discussed the RX 470 (Brilliant HD Gaming) and some of its most important features. This 4GB graphic of GDDR5 memory will feature 32 compute units (CU) and 2048 Stream Processors with a 256-bit memory interface. To power it will use a single 6-pin connector (130w), this is similar to its older sister the RX 480 even in the PCB layout and ventilation. If we talk about performance, AMD has not given specific details but it stands to reason that it would be similar to an R9 380.

AMD Radeon RX 460

RX 460 will be the graphics card chosen to storm the market of the lower-middle range of players, with 14 computing units, 896 Stream Processors and 128-bit memory bus. The AMD RX 460 will not use an external connector and will only be powered by the power offered by the PCI-Express (75W) slot. It is clear that the RX 460 is designed for low-power computers, having a minimalist design quite similar to an R9 Nano. The 2GB of GDDR5 memory with which it will be launched on the market seem to be sufficient for the performance it will offer.

The performance of this graphic would be similar to a Nvidia GTX 950, but as we already mentioned above, the performance of both is not official and we will have to wait for the first tests to arrive.

AMD Radeon RX 470 & 460 would arrive during the month of August, a month in which it is also believed that the GTX 1050 will arrive to compete with these options.
