The new patch for Rise of the Tomb Raider (v770.1) manages to increase performance with AMD Ryzen processors by up to 28%, an improvement as we have rarely seen through a 'simple' patch.

In the graph that we see below these lines, we can see the difference with settings in the middle and high. For the test, an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor accompanied by a GeForce GTX 1080 was used.

We can clearly see how with the previous version of the game, 120 fps is reached. After applying the patch, performance increased to 151 fps.

Users can easily check the performance for themselves by reverting to the previous version after upgrade. This option is found in the Steam Beta drop-down menu within the game properties.

According to what the developer Crystal Dynamics said , this update improves the multitasking processes and threads of Ryzen processors, taking advantage of their multiple cores much more efficiently and adapting the game to the new architecture. Crystal Dynamics also claims that the update reduces GPU driver overhead.
