During this week we have already shown you some motherboards for the AMD X399 socket. Specifically, they are the motherboards compatible with the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper with 16 cores and 32 threads of execution. According to they filter the prices of these new ones that will be about 849 euros.

So… are they cheap or expensive?

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 16-core 32-thread priced at $ 849?

For a normal user it is illogical that they see interest in this type of processors, since for daily tasks the 4 cores and 8 threads of the Kaby Lake series have gone quite well while for more "off-road" use we have the AMD Ryzen 7 with 8 cores and 16 threads of execution, which if you do not overclock it is reduced in certain applications or even playing.

Compared to the new Intel Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors, they are infinitely cheaper, their counterpart to the blue giant would cost around 1699 euros. While the i9-7900X version will have 10 cores and 20 logical threads at a price of $ 999.

What is also rumored, is that the AMD Ryzen X399 motherboards will not be cheap at all, it is not known if it is because of the power outlets to feed the 180W TDP of the processor, if it is for the type of design that we have seen in the processor (I am not convinced), by the scheme of the motherboard itself or by an accumulation of everything.

Although good, it is still early to know official prices (but the filtered ones fit me perfectly) and their performance. We have to wait a bit and see how many brands of heatsinks are betting on this platform, at least it seems that Noctua is the only one.
