The discovery details the addition of EDAC (Error Detection and Correction) family operating code to the Linux kernel for systems in the 19h family, which is AMD's family of CPUs based on the Zen 3 microarchitecture. Existing chips from the 17h family (Zen2) can still be used, and we should note that these are not the Ryzen 4000 'Renoir' APUs that were announced at CES, as these are still based on the Zen2 microarchitecture.
This code added to the Linux system shows that Zen 3 is on the way and getting closer, promising greater performance.
