Intel pentium g4560 review, excellent performance in the input range

We already warned you that the new Pentium processors of the Kaby Lake family were going to come with Hyperthreading technology enabled, something that brings them very close to the benefits of the Core i3 by being able to handle up to four threads of data. The guys at Computer Base have gotten their hands on a Pentium G4560 that has shown excellent performance.

Pentium G4560 shows its claws against the Core i5 2500K

The Pentium G4560 is a very cheap processor with a price of only $ 65, the chip offers us a configuration of two physical cores with HT technology to add a total of four logical cores and improve its performance. The processor works at a fixed frequency of 3.5 GHz and its specifications are completed with 3 MB of L3 cache and a 55W TDP. On the other hand, it includes Intel HD 610 graphics at 1150 MHz. An excellent processor at a very low price.

Its operating frequency places it slightly below the Core i3 6100 of the previous generation Skylake although with the slight improvement introduced in the new Kaby Lake cores the performance difference should be reduced and in return it has a price that is almost half of what that the mentioned Core i3 cost.

Tests show that overall the Pentium G4560 offers very similar performance to the Core i3 6100 and Core i5 2500K of the Sandy Bridge generation. In general applications the Pentium G4560 is 15% faster than the AMD FX 6300, 21% faster than the Pentium G4400, and 23% faster than the AMD A10-7890K. As for games we see that the new Intel chip also shows its claws and operates the FX 6300 for 16%, the Pentium G4400 for 26% and the AMD A10-7890K also for 26%.

Without a doubt, the arrival of HT technology in the Pentium range will allow players on a very tight budget to build a very competitive system to play all current games with fairly good levels of fluency. In fact I would dare to say that this has been the most important novelty of the Kaby Lake since in the high-end the difference in performance compared to Skylake is almost nil.
