Antec HCP-1300W

As expected the presentation is to take off your hat. In this case we find a strong packaging and a classic presentation: silver cover referring to the "High Current PRO" series and the back with all the technical characteristics of the power supply. Once we open the box we find the power supply protected by a cloth bag and protections in all corners. The bundle is made up of:

  • Antec HCP 1300 W power supply . Modular cable. Instruction manual. Power cable and screws for installation.

We have a power supply with a standard ATX design with quite special dimensions: 86 mm x 150 mm x 190 mm and a high weight of 4.7 kg. Black colors predominate in its background and small details in yellow (logo and letters) throughout its chassis. It incorporates the 80 PLUS PLATINUM efficiency certification, which guarantees almost perfect efficiency. In addition to saving 20% more than the rest of the power supply and power, it continues without desperate lines or equipment drops.

On both sides they have the sticker indicating the power supply model, while on the reverse side are all the most relevant technical specifications. To highlight its combined power of four 50A lines that make a maximum power of 1300 w. In the upper area we find a silent 135 mm fan model Delta AFB1312M-SM02 self-regulating (PWM) and with semi-fan less technology that allows the fan to be stopped at low load and only activate when it is necessary. Among its components we find a first class Delta Electronic core, Infineon mosfets, LLC Champion Micro controller, Japanese condensers (Nippon Chemi-CON) prepared for charging temperatures of 105ºC and welds that are the best we can find in a electronic equipment.

Antec has not forgotten the protections and is one of the first power sources that includes Lot 6 ErP: 2013 and the industrial level protections against excess current (OCP), Protection against overvoltages (OVP), Protection against Undervoltages (UVP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Surge Protection (OPP), Over Temperature Protection (OTP), Surge Protection and Current Shutdown (SIP) and No Load Operation (NLO).

The cabling system is completely modular and we miss a flat format as we have seen in lower models (Edge series) instead of the classic cabling. All of them come holstered and when organizing the interior of our tower we will have no problem. The cable set is made up of:

  • 1 x 20 + 4pin1 x 4 + 4pin 12v1 x 8 EPS12V9 x SATA1 x FDD6 x 4 pin MolexOC Link10 x 6 + 2pin PCI-E

To check at what level our power supply works, we are going to check the energy consumption of its voltages with an Asus GTX780 Direct CU II graphic, with a fourth-generation Intel Haswell i7- 4790k processor over another high-performance source such as the Antec HCG -850W.

Final words and conclusion

Antec's High Current Pro Platinum series is one of the best range of modular cable management power supplies on the market today. This series is equipped with the 80 PLUS PLATINUM and Lot 6 ErP: 2013 certification. What does this mean? It yields up to 94% efficiency, improves consumption, has all possible and safest protections and excellent durability in all the components of our equipment.

After our tests we have been able to verify that it is the power source that has reduced the consumption of our equipment the most. We have a 7-year warranty and 24/7 lifetime support. I would like to highlight two very important points:

  • OC Link: Allows 2 HCP Platinum sources to work together to power the most demanding equipment PhaseWave Design: Synchronous full bridge rectification with LLC design based on a Class-Server DC-DC topology.

It is a 10/10 product but I would have liked the cables to be meshed and in a flat format, this detail would become the ideal source for PC gamers, professionals and Siberites.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Review: Asus RT-AC3200

Currently we can find it in online stores for a price of 275 to 300 euros. What if we can assure you that it is worth every euro invested in it, and if we buy Antec, we know that we buy quality.
