Antec TruePower Classic 650W
Antec is the manufacturer that we have analyzed the most sources on this website and its presentations are always to take your hat off. In this case we find a strong packaging and a classic presentation: cover with silhouette of the product and the back with all the technical characteristics of the power supply. Once we open the box we find the power supply protected by a plastic bag. The bundle is made up of:
- Antec TruePower Classic 650W power supply. Instruction manual. Power cord and screws for installation.
We have a power supply with a standard ATX design with dimensions 86 mm x 150 mm x 140 mm and a weight of 2.2 kg. Black colors and small details in yellow predominate throughout the power supply. It incorporates the 80 PLUS GOLD efficiency certification, which guarantees us 92%. In addition to saving 20% more than the rest of the power supply and power, it continues without desperate lines or equipment drops.
On both sides we do not have any remarkable characteristics, while on the reverse we have all the most relevant technical specifications, such as its combined power of two 30A lines with a power of 648W. In the upper area we find a silent 120mm fan ADDA model (AD1212MB-A70GL) self-regulating (PWM) next to a top-of-the-range Seasonic core.
Antec has not forgotten the protections and is one of the first power sources that includes Lot 6 ErP: 2013 and the industrial level protections against excess current (OCP), Protection against overvoltages (OVP), Protection against Undervoltages (UVP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Surge Protection (OPP), Over Temperature Protection (OTP), Surge Protection and Current Shutdown (SIP) and No Load Operation (NLO).
The wiring system is fixed and consists of:
- 1 x 20 + 4pin1 x 4 + 4pin 12v6 x SATA1 x FDD5 x 4 pin Molex4 x 6 + 2pin PCI-E

To check at what level our power supply works, we are going to check the energy consumption of its voltages with an Asus GTX780 Direct CU II graphic, with a fourth-generation Intel Haswell i7- 4790k processor over another high-performance source such as the Antec HCG -850W.
Final words and conclusion
Antec's TruePower Classic series is one of the series that meets the most difficult power standards available, Lot 6 ErP: 2013 and offers increased reliability on the international market. Among its features we find 650 w of power, 80 PLUS GOLD certification, 92% efficiency, 120 mm fan and a backed by a 5-year warranty with 24/7 support for life.
One of its strongest points is the protection at an industrial level against excess current (OCP), Protection against overvoltages (OVP), Protection against undervoltages (UVP),
Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Over Voltage Protection (OPP), Over Temperature Protection (OTP), Surge Protection and Current Closure (SIP) and No Load Operation (NLO). In addition to finding Japanese high-performance capacitors that guarantee the stability of direct current without unexpected "jumps" and a 5-year warranty.
WE RECOMMEND ANTEC HCG850 Extreme Review in Spanish (Full Review)In our tests we have seen that it is a high-range power supply and that it will give our equipment stability, security and protection that few sources in this range can say. Its only downside is that it does not have modular management in its wiring.
It is currently in an online store hovering between 95 to 100 euros. Honestly, it's worth every penny we pay for it.
