Apple music to premiere documentary series on rapper wiz khalifa

Rapper Wiz Khalifa himself has recently announced today a new documentary series about his career that will be titled "Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam". This new project, made from archival images and interviews with the artist's friends and family, will be launched exclusively on Apple Music on Wednesday April 17, and consists of five episodes that "will go to the most intimate aspects" of Wiz's life."

The series will be launched between the two performances that Wiz Khalifa will hold in Coachella, which will take place this weekend and the weekend of April 19. The executive producer of the project, Michael Strahan, has expressed the emotion that the team has felt for working with Apple Music on the series, which has given the opportunity to "give the world an intimate look at the emergence of an entertainment icon."

The trailer takes a different approach than most music documentaries, showing footage of a teenage Wiz at a meeting and in a store attended by one person, and rapping a handful of people on a basketball court. His mother and his longtime associates talk about his early dedication, even when he was playing for almost no one, and of course the trailer ends with him playing the same song that later in his career will play for thousands of people.

Although Apple is shifting its focus from video content to the announced Apple TV + service, it appears that documentaries related to music and "behind the scene" movies will remain on Apple Music. Despite this, Apple has removed the TV & Movies section in Apple Music in a recent iOS update, which introduced a revamped layout to make browsing curated music playlists easier.
