2015 MacBook Pro with Retina display may pose a fire risk
The company says there is a “limited number” of affected units, sold between September 2015 and February 2017. The model in question would be the Retina display.
If you know someone who has this model, you may want to check their serial number on the Apple support website. The model you are looking for is the “MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)”, whose specifications you can find here.
For all those who own this model, Apple says it will replace the battery for free, meaning the older MacBook Pro could last longer than normal, as older iPhones did when Apple offered battery parts as an apology for reducing the speed of those phones.

The bad news is that that means sending the MacBook Pro laptop to Apple's repair center, which could take a week or two to return the already-repaired laptop with the new battery. That's a long time, especially if you need the equipment to work. And Apple says the warranty will not be extended.
Overall, the company claims that the recall doesn't affect any other MacBook, so this shouldn't affect the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display that was also sold between those same years. Last April, the company also issued a battery-related recall for some 2016 13-inch MacBook Pros, but that recall was not considered a security issue.
