As the new processors are shown to the public, so are the APUs, which mount powerful built-in graphics. So the latest leaks about AMD “Renoir” APUs are good news for the industry. If you want to know how they perform, keep reading.

AMD “Renoir” APUs filter their returns at 3DMark

The current AMD "Picasso" architecture has managed to maintain dominance over APUs for many years . However, Intel is going to be on their heels, which is why perhaps AMD is finalizing the last touches to the AMD "Renoir" APUs .

As for architectures AMD "Picasso" uses 12nm transistors, so the jump could reach 7nm or even 7nm + .

But back to the topic, today's news refers to some results uploaded to Reddit, which are apparently from AMD "Renoir" APUs . These leaks are theoretically derived from 3DMark 11 and we have 3 results for 3 configurations.

  • 1st Configuration: The CPU at 1.70 GHz and the iGPU at 1.50 GHz with DDR4-2667 RAM.

  • 2nd Configuration: The CPU at 1.80 GHz and the iGPU and RAM at unknown frequencies.

  • 3rd Configuration: The 2.00 GHz CPU and the 1.10 GHz iGPU with DDR4-2667 RAM.

The first configuration achieves a score of 3, 547, something quite acceptable.

On the other hand, the second configuration, which has higher CPU frequencies, achieves only 3, 143 points . For this reason, we understand that the frequencies of the iGPU (unknown) are lower and possibly also that of RAM .

Finally, the third configuration is the one with a higher CPU frequency, but nevertheless has a much lower iGPU . The score obtained is only 2, 374 points, which makes us think that apart from frequencies they have also sacrificed Computer Units (UC) .

By rumors, these AMD “Renoir” APUs will carry a hybrid with Zen 2 cores and an iGPU unit based on “Navi” . But what about this news about new APUs ? Would you use the iGPUs of these processors? Share your ideas down here in the comment box.
