AMD prepares new Ryzen processors, ASRock has revealed some of the most interesting details

Second-generation Ryzen processors arrive to enhance the company's original designs, offering higher clock speeds, increased performance on multi-threaded tasks, and a lower latency cache structure. These new silicons are a prelude to what awaits us with the arrival of the third-generation Ryzen, which will already be based on the Zen 2 architecture and a new manufacturing process at 7 nm from GlobalFoundries. There is also talk that CCXs could go from being 4-core to 6-core.

ASRock has unofficially confirmed four new second-generation Ryzen models, based on Pinnacle Ridge silicon and with an active quad-core configuration , six-core processors with a low 45W TDP have also been shown. It is unknown when these new processors will be released, AMD is likely to announce some of them at Computex next week. There is also talk of the possibility that low-power E models are exclusive to OEMs.

The most interesting models with the Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X, which could offer higher clock frequencies compared to the Raven Ridge 2400G and 2200G processors, as well as some of the other Zen + improvements. These processors will also include more cache than Raven Ridge, and will come with the IHS die-soldered for better cooling. Of course, they will not include integrated graphics.
