Computex is being held in Taiwan and the event is beginning to see some interesting news from many of the most important technology manufacturers, such as the case of ASUS, which has been presenting a kind of Modular PC that they have called ASUS Avalon.

ASUS presented its modular PC prototype at Computex

With a shape very similar to that of a high-fidelity sound system, the ASUS Avalon has front slots to insert up to four storage units in a very simple way, being able to exchange hard drives or SSDs in a few seconds.

Inside you can see the central plate of the Avalon in the form of "T" where you can see the motherboard, in this case with Z170 chipset for the Intel platform. On this basis, it is possible to position the different modules with different hardware components without too many complications. On one side you can also see the graphics card, which also allows the comfortable replacement of it. It is also important to note that not a single cable is seen in the ASUS Avalon, as it happens with the classic PC towers that we see every day, this is a new concept.

Changing a graphics card is easy with a modular PC

The Modular PC concept allows, for example, to connect the modules necessary to have a PC dedicated to video games or to place the modules for a PC dedicated to virtual reality, etc., so with just one change we would have a PC with a very configuration different.

Complete ASUS Avalon design

At the moment the ASUS Avalon is a prototype and it shows by the improvable aspect of its "casing" but the concept is very interesting and looks comfortable for the assembly of a desktop PC.
