Now, ASUS has revealed a lot more information about its XG438Q gaming screen, confirming that the screen exceeds the DisplayHDR 600 specification by offering maximum brightness levels of 750 nits, this provides gamers with an anti-glare display and offers what ASUS calls “Gamefast. Input Technology ”to minimize input latency.

The display is called ASUS ROG Big FREESYNC 2, compatible with AMD's FreeSync 2 HDR standard with a variable refresh rate (VRR) range of 48-120FPS. This is more than enough to activate AMD's low frame rate compensation technology. As for the inputs, this monitor supports three HDMI 2.0 inputs and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection, making this monitor usable with both video game consoles and home entertainment systems and PCs.

With Nvidia's announcement of VESA Adaptive-Sync support, this ROG Strix monitor is likely to be supported by Nvidia's hardware as well, although this has not been verified. Nvidia will allow PC gamers to enable Adaptive-Sync support within their controllers on non-certified screens, so we'll have to wait and see how well this monitor works on the green company's hardware.

This monitor is expected to use a VA-type panel that offers respectable levels of compatibility with 10-bit HDR, 750 nits peak luminance, local dimming, and FreeSync 2 HDR and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certifications. The display will also cover 90% of the DCI-P3 color space and will offer users three distinct HDR modes: SUS Cinema HDR, ASUS Gaming HDR and FreeSync 2 HDR.

Its release date and the price it will have have not yet been confirmed. We will keep you informed.
