Very little information is currently known about the custom versions of the AMD Radeon RX Vega, as not much has been mentioned beyond their names and little else. Asus is the manufacturer that provides us with more information by showing the design of its new Asus RX Vega Strix 64 and 56 cards.

Asus shows the details of its Asus RX Vega Strix

Asus has so far revealed two RX Vega Strix 64 models and two RX Vega Strix 56 models, all with the same DirectCU III heatsink belonging to the Strix series. The first versions of the prototypes of these cards that have come into the hands of analysts work with BIOS that are far from the final ones, so the operating frequencies of the commercial versions may be different.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 Review in Spanish

Asus RX Vega Strix works with an updated version of the most powerful heatsink in the company, it occupies 2.5 expansion slots, so it hides a very large aluminum radiator that will help increase the heat exchange surface and therefore maximize cooling capacity by up to an additional 40%. Temperatures will be 30% lower, which will allow for quieter fan operation. All this is possible thanks to a base that has been redesigned to improve heat transfer from the GPU by increasing its surface by 2 times.

The PCB image shows a lot of free space, this is because of the HBM2 memory that is placed next to the die of the GPU and therefore offers a much cleaner and more compact design. You can also see a large number of power phases in your VRM Digi + with Super Alloy Power 2 components, it will undoubtedly be more than enough for the proper functioning of a GPU as energy demanding as it is Vega, especially the full version of Vega 64. The PCB includes video outputs in the form of 2 x HDMI 2.0, 2 x DisplayPort 1.4 ports and 1 x DVI-D.

Like all modern hardware, Asus RX Vega Strix offers support for RGB LED lighting and Asus FanConnect II and Asus Aura technologies.

These cards should arrive in September, details about their prices are not known.
