Asus has announced its new Asus Radeon RX 480 DUAL 4GB graphics card that comes to offer a cheaper version than the STRIX RX 480 but maintaining all the benefits of the new AMD Polaris graphics architecture.
Asus Radeon RX 480 DUAL 4GB: technical characteristics
The Asus Radeon RX 480 DUAL 4GB is based on a new custom PCB that has been manufactured by Asus to improve the performance and reliability of the reference model, includes a single 8-pin power connector to avoid problems related to models with 6-pin connector.
The card owes its name to the presence of the Asus Dual-Fan heatsink consisting of an aluminum radiator pierced by several copper heatpipes and with a white plastic cover on top. We also find two fans that are responsible for generating the necessary air flow to keep temperatures under control during operation.
Beyond that we have little news with a Polaris 10 Ellesmere GPU consisting of a total of 36 Compute Units totaling 2304 Processors Shaders, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs operating at a turbo frequency of 1320 MHz. The GPU comes with a total of 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface and a bandwidth of 256 GB.
