The ROG Strix GL702ZC is AMD's first gaming laptop powered by an eight-core Ryzen CPU. This laptop was unveiled during the Computex 2017 event and recently went on presale. Below, we reveal all the details.

ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC gives you PC performance with up to 8 cores and 16 processing threads

One of the most prominent products that were introduced this year in the field of notebooks are the devices powered by Ryzen processors, which can incorporate complete PC components with up to 8 cores and 16 processing threads.

The first of this new range of notebooks is the ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC, which incorporates a RX 580 graphics card with 8 GB of RAM and the option of having a Ryzen 7 1700 processor or a Ryzen 5 1600, with 8 and 6 cores respectively.

These are impressive figures for a gaming laptop, but keep in mind that there is no possibility of overclocking for these new laptops.

Also, the ROG Strix GL702ZC is equipped with 32GB of DDR4-2400 memory and an NVMe SSD up to 512GB. Additionally, there will be a 2.5-inch drive for a second SSD or hard drive.

As for the screen, this laptop brings a 17.3-inch IPS panel in different models, including in 1080p or 4K resolution (the latter will run at a refresh rate of 60Hz, while Full HD displays will reach a rate of 75Hz or 120Hz). Whichever screen is chosen, you can enjoy AMD FreeSync technology that is responsible for offering a more fluid gaming experience. Finally, the Strix GL702ZC is just over 3kg in weight and 33mm thick.

At this moment, the model with Ryzen 7 processor is already in pre-sale at a price of 1799 euros.
