Asus continues with the landing of its new generation graphics cards with the announcement of its Asus ROG Strix RX 480 which arrives on the market in two versions slightly differentiated by the clock frequency of its Polaris 10 graphics core.

Asus ROG Strix RX 480: characteristics of the two versions of the card

The Asus ROG Strix RX 480 comes with its AURA RGB LED lighting system to give it a very attractive touch within our equipment. This card uses the acclaimed DirectCU III heatsink consisting of a massive aluminum fin radiator pierced by several copper hetapipes and seasoned with three advanced 90mm fans featuring 0dB technology for passive operation in idle or low-load situations.

The new Asus graphics card comes in two different versions, one of which works at the reference frequencies of 1140 MHz and 1286 MHz for its graphics core, while the Asus ROG Strix RX 480 OC variant reaches frequencies of 1186 MHz and 1330 MHz to improve its performance. Both make use of an advanced custom PCB with Super Alloy II components for higher reliability and better energy efficiency.

The excellent energy efficiency of the Polaris 10 GPU allows the Asus ROG Strix RX 480 to be powered in both versions through a single 8-pin connector, so its maximum consumption will not exceed 225W in situations of high manual overclock. The specifications are completed with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, two HDMI 2.0b outputs, two DisplayPort 1.4, and a DVI-D.

It will go on sale in early August at an unknown price.
