Asus continues to expand the TUF family of Z170 chipset motherboards with the launch of the ASUS Sabertooth Z170 S with ATX format for sixth generation processors (Intel Skylake) and a very attractive white color design.

ASUS Sabertooth Z170 S

This beast has 8 + 4 power phases accompanied by Digi +, TurboV (TPU) and Asus PRO Clock technology that improves the stability of the system to the maximum. As it is a motherboard for the LGA1151 socket, it incorporates the Intel Z170 chipset and a brutal aesthetic in white. We see a success in not incorporating its famous armor, in this way we can show off its PCB in the way it deserves.

Among its technologies, it has TuF Ice, TUF Detective 2 and Thermal Radar 2 that help improve thermal performance in all its components. Like the entire TUF series, it is certified for military use, which is why it offers a 5-year guarantee.

It also incorporates three PCI Express x16 connections with the possibility of mounting a 4-Way SLI and CrossfireX from Nvidia or AMD and three PCI Express x1 connections. For RAM, it has four DDR4 sockets for a total of 64GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 memory and 6 SATA III connections for storage.

Asus does not forget to incorporate a slot for the M.2 connection with size type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (42/60/80 and 110mm), which will allow us to insert a disk of this new generation and its high bus of 32 GB / s. In addition to an 8-channel Realtek ALC1150 sound card as an amplifier to support top-of-the-range speakers.

Finally, I would like to point out that the rear connections with 8 USB 3.0 connections, the USB FlashBack button, an HDMI connection, another Displayport, a 10/100/1000 network card, USB 3.1 Type-C connection, USB 3.1 Type-A and the sound card connections.

Availability and price

We still do not know its price, but if we rely on the previous Z97 Mark-S it will range from 300 to 330 euros. His arrival is imminent in Spain, it is not confirmed, but we intuit that it is a matter of weeks.
