Asus and Acer are preparing to announce the launch of their 4K monitors with G-Sync and HDR this May, specifically they are expected to do so in just two weeks. These new monitors will be based on a 3840 × 2160 pixel panel, with a G-Sync module, HDR10 compatibility and the ability to reproduce 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. For this, it has been necessary to use a 384 LED backlight system and quantum dot technology, something that has been very difficult to implement in a device with a restrained size such as PC monitors.

For now the first models will be the Acer X27 Predator and the Asus PG27UQ, the latter is already available for pre-sale for a price of 2556.50 euros, a very high figure, which is the price to pay for wanting so many advanced technologies in a PC monitor. At the moment it is not known where exactly the difficulties have been in its manufacture, it could be that Nvidia presence obtained unrealistic specifications, or that AU Optronics has had problems in the manufacture of the necessary panels.

In any case, the first 4K monitors with G-Sync and HDR are very close to starting to sell, although for now they will only be within the reach of a privileged few, the rest will have to wait for prices to drop.
