Initially unveiled at IFA 2016, it appears that the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC monitor is ready for launch, and even though it's already over 1 year old, it's still a very competitive and attractive display in many ways.

ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC monitor will finally be available after being unveiled at IFA 2016

The MB16AC is a 15.6-inch USB monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. It features an IPS panel without anti-reflective coating, achieves a maximum brightness of 220 cd / m2 and provides a contrast ratio of 800: 1. At the moment we do not have any information regarding the response time or the viewing angles of this monitor, but considering the presence of the IPS panel it surely has quite decent viewing angles.

As it is a highly portable product, the company has worked hard to keep the dimensions of the monitor to a minimum. For starters, the MB16AC is only 8.0mm thick. Also, the use of metal in the monitor case has allowed ASUS to reduce the bezels around the screen to 6.5mm. The end result is a very light USB monitor weighing in at just 780 grams.

Like many other portable monitors, the ZenScreen MB16AC requires a single USB connection for video streaming and power. However, this model incorporates a hybrid USB-C port that not only has support for DisplayPort via USB-C, but also has full support for USB 3.0 type A ports thanks to an included USB-C to USB adapter- A.

Finally, the energy consumption of this monitor is about 8W or less, which is fine for a monitor of this type.

There are also various functions for screen overlay, such as a timer or a photo playback mode. In addition, ASUS also incorporated its Eye Care technology, designed to combine a flicker reduction system with a blue light filter to reduce eye fatigue.

We don't have firm details regarding the pricing or availability of this new ASUS monitor, but Dutch store Redable.nl will have it in stock on May 29 and it will arrive in the United States in July 2017.
